This is a Power Girl drawing done with pencils and copic markers. I haven't ever drawn a super hero before, in all of my years of nerdhood. Power Girl seemed simple enough for a first attempt. There are a lot of areas to improve, but thought I would share the start.

great work.
super heroes are fun, but it's all about the right super hero that brings out the awesomeness of it all. and this looks like it.

Thanks, they have been fun to work on, I have several other Power Girl images and went through a run of Batman related ones that were enjoyable. I need to get back to them at some point soon!

I wouldn't have guessed it was a first attempt at a new genre. It is a very nice piece in and of itself. I reckon people would commission you for fan art and original characters on the strength of this one work alone.

I appreciate your comment! I look at the work and see all sorts of opportunity for improvement, it was a first really for this kind of drawing. I am an architect in real life so people and figures are outside of my normal realm of drawing, I like to think that I am getting better though, I did some additional images that I put the colors on in the computer if you had time to check them out.

Very nice work. It looks as if you really drew and colored it on a paper bag, which if so is charmingly resourceful and has a strong nostalgic appeal to me. You did it with traditional, old-school materials, which is commendable as well. Please do more--more superhero or superheroine drawings specifically, and more paper-bag drawings in general. What fun they are. :)

Thanks a lot for the comments! This is on a type of kraft paper, I actually do a lot of drawing on lunch bags for my daughter (This is the most recent: [link] and some older ones: [link] [link] and

I have more paper bag art in my gallery and just a few superhero/heroine images there as well, although there are probably more that are digital colors instead.

Thanks again for the comments!
